Hello Girly! I am so excited to show you some of the things I purchased at TJ Maxx already for the fall season. YAY! This is my favorite time of year to shop. Now through September are the best times because stores will front load the season with the best stuff! I worked retail for almost 20 years and this IS the time to shop! YES, even if you are not in the mood for fall, you do not want to miss the good stuff ladies! I love, love, love TJ Maxx for their prices and their styles, especially if you want to maximize your budget.
Did I mention that I LOVE TJ Maxx! I found some STELLAR deals on some really cute pieces that are stylish for the season and versatile enough to go with things I already own. They are soooo good that you may want to get them for your wardrobe as well! In saying that, I also recommend only purchasing pieces that you love and fit in your existing wardrobe which will maximize your outfit making potential. Let’s not purchase anything that will not get worn! So…..(drum roll please), here are the pieces I am adding to my fall wardrobe!
This grey top by Cloth & Stone is so cute and cost me $39.99! It looks a little bit like denim when you put it on. It is a high low style with a laced up open back. This can be worn with white jeans and sandals for a transitional outfit or worn with black jeans (my own from Banana Republic) and booties in the fall. With this outfit I paired a pair of blush pink booties by Lucky Brand, also from TJ Maxx. They were $59.99. I have been looking for a pair of blush pink booties for about a year now, so I was so excited when I found these! If you aren’t a pink girl like me then you can wear grey or black booties with it.
Just a blip on Cloth and Stone since you know how much of a designer snob I am! They are sold at Anthropologie and usually made of Lyocell and sometimes a rayon blend. I like Lyocell for it’s soft feel and low wrinkle properties. I can’t stand my clothing having wrinkles so this is great for me! The only problem with this type of fabric is you never ever want to dry it on high. IT WILL SHRINK! You can wash it on delicate and then dry it on very low. I mostly hang dry anything made with this material. It is a type of rayon but does not have the exact same properties. I try to stay away from rayon as much as possible because it does not wash well at all and it pills and shrinks. Anyway, I should save my rant on rayon for another post. I do like this brand but usually only purchase it a TJ’s.
The next set of clothing is all from TJ Maxx. None of the pieces were mine previously. There is a huge trend for ripped jeans and I found these Hudson jeans for $69.99 and I think that is a steal! I found them on sale at Bloomingdales for $99.99. I always like to see if what I find is still for sale anywhere else.
The Lucky Brand Machiko open heel booties I did not purchase because the heel was too high for me but I wanted to tell people about them because they are still full price, $108.95 at Nordstrom! They are priced at $35.99 at TJ’s!! A STEAL! Go get them!
The t-shirts are both by a brand I have never heard of called Nation LTD which is going to be one of my next Designer of the Day posts. The ones I purchased are 100% cotton and fit really well. The white t-shirt is just plain but not too see-through and the turtleneck has black stripes and raw edges. The white tee was $24.99 and the turtle neck was $29.99. I have to say that is a little expensive for t-shirt’s at TJ Maxx. I feel like they are priced right though because of the brand and the quality of them. If you were to purchase these at full price they would be in the $60 to $70 range. I will be wearing both t-shirts with my ripped jeans. Since the jeans are a statement piece, make sure you wear something simple like this with them.
The military jacket has come on to the fashion scene in the past couple of years. I found this Anthropologie one for $39.99! It is cropped and has beading detail on the shoulders that gives it a feminine touch. The color was also great for my red hair and pale skin. I will be wearing it with my dark J Crew skinny jeans and a pair of Joie suede plum t-strap flats I purchased at TJ Maxx in the spring. This jacket is not too over the top so I think it would also look great with a pair of ripped up skinny jeans.
I hope these August finds inspire you to go shop for your own additions to your fall wardrobe and help you maximize your budget. This is just the start of my wardrobe for this Fall season, so I will continue to show you what great things I find along the way. Until then, happy shopping!
