My Designer of the Week pick for this week is Lilla P! This is a personal favorite of mine from my years of clothing retail. I feel like this is another wonderful brand that is missed by so many people. Lilla P got it’s start with a basic everyday tee in 1998 and has grown into a full line of essentials and other fashionable items to mix in with your wardrobe. Being masters of fit and function, it is not surprising that they also use high quality, luxurious fabrics to create their pieces. I can personally attest to the quality because I still have some of my Lilla P sweaters and t-shirts from 3 or 4 years ago and they still look brand new! I…
I heart the menswear inspired blazer! I have actually been looking for one for myself that I love and realized I already have one in my closet that I totally forgot about. This seems to happen the more clothing I accumulate! My blazer is from Banana Republic and I purchased it months ago while shopping with a client for her spring wardrobe. It was on the sale rack and was such a good deal I could not pass it up. Oh, and not to mention it is super cute and olive green! What is it that defines the menswear-inspired blazer? It is the marriage of men’s structure and masculine style to women’s feminine details and chic styling. The details of the menswear-inspired blazers are shoulder…
Hello girlies! I have had an interesting challenge come my way that had me stumped for a few weeks. My activewear all the sudden started smelling horrible when I was working out. Like a musty sour smell, not a sweaty smell. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out what it was that was smelling so bad and I finally discovered it was my sports bras. They only smelled bad when they started heating up from my body heat. Yuck! I also realized that maybe it was time to get rid of the ones that were a few years old (or more). In trying to salvage them I decided to soak them in vinegar and water in my laundry sink for an hour…
This designer is very fitting for me to talk about this week. I have just recently discovered this brand and think that it is really cute and has a lovely price point. The reason it is so fitting is that the styles just suit my current lifestyle. Z Supply specializes in great essentials that will mix well into your existing wardrobe. The clothing style is comfortable and casual but has a snappy look to it. I was recently shopping with a client and we went to a store in Collierville, TN called Loni’s Fashions, which is the cutest little “hidden gem” in the city that has been in business for 30 years! That is such an accomplishment for a small business that I am speechless. Anyway,…
Well, you all might be surprised that I do shop other places besides TJ Maxx! I actually shop everywhere, I just have a tendency to like a really good deal so I shop at TJ Maxx for myself A LOT. I did take a trip recently with my sister in law to TJ Maxx and Loft. Adrianne, my sister in law, and I have shopped for her clothing for the past 13 years, which is how long I have been married to her brother. She is blind, yes totally blind, so I am a big help to her wardrobe choices! I will say that even though she is blind she is very opinionated about some of the things she tries on because she determines how…
Hello again! For those of you who are new to traveling and are taking a long getaway I hope this article is helpful to you. This is a continuation to an article I wrote in August called Travel Essentials for those Long Getaways. My client that is taking the trip was so kind to let me photograph the wardrobe that accompanied her on her getaway. The temperatures predicted for her overseas destination were going to be in the low 40’s or 50’s and high 70’s or 80’s. To allow room for future purchases on your trip, I recommend that you keep your choices at a minimum and practice packing them early to make sure they will fit properly (with room left) in your suitcase. There are a…
Hello again girlies! My desire is to help women like you dress and feel better everyday of your life. Having a great wardrobe can help bring out that confidence that is hidden deep inside you. We are all different and we should all be able to express that to the world. Since we are all different, I have a hard time telling woman they need certain things in their wardrobe without knowing what their everyday life looks like. Your lifestyle and personality will dictate a lot of your wardrobe choices. You can have a powerful, functional wardrobe with just 15 to 20 pieces. Whether you are a stay-at-home wife or mom or a corporate working woman, you can have a great wardrobe to suite your…
