My Designer of the Week pick for this week is Lilla P! This is a personal favorite of mine from my years of clothing retail. I feel like this is another wonderful brand that is missed by so many people. Lilla P got it’s start with a basic everyday tee in 1998 and has grown into a full line of essentials and other fashionable items to mix in with your wardrobe. Being masters of fit and function, it is not surprising that they also use high quality, luxurious fabrics to create their pieces. I can personally attest to the quality because I still have some of my Lilla P sweaters and t-shirts from 3 or 4 years ago and they still look brand new! I am featuring a few pieces that one of my clients purchased at a store called Loni’s Fashions in Collierville, TN, which is the same store from my last Designer of the Week: Z Supply post. The outfits are with pieces of my own taken on my flat lay set up!
My absolute favorite piece in their fall collection is this awesome Embroidered Sweatshirt with a vintage flare to it! How cute is this?! I love the mix of essential and fashion forward styling that this piece has. You can make it casual or dress it up a bit with the right bottoms and accessories. I love a good sweatshirt and when it is chic enough to style into these outfits I’m all over it! I am so glad we found this for my client and would love to have one for myself!
This next piece is a Pima Modal Cut Out Neck t-shirt. This is no ordinary t-shirt though. It is made with two of the softest and luxurious feeling fabrics on the planet! When you combine them together it is a wonderful marriage. Not only does it feel dreamy but it drapes well on the body. Even though it has the cut outs near the shoulder it is still “normal” bra friendly. No need for that terrible strapless! Again, they have impressed with their design, fit and fabric quality.
This Over Dyed Slub Long Sleeve Easy Boatneck is on point with the rustic distressed trends. The way the shirt is cut gives it a sweatshirt feel but in a lightweight 100% cotton slub fabric. If you are not familiar with slub fabric, it is characterized by knots or thicker sections in the fibers that are woven together to make the garment. The fibers are considered more natural and not processed. The combination of the color dying process and the slub fabric is what gives the t-shirt that rustic look.
All three of these Lilla P pieces are very versatile and would fit in well to add some pops of color to your current wardrobe. I love working pieces like these into clients wardrobes because you don’t have to over think them when putting them together in an outfit. They are a statement just by themselves but not so much they go beyond a basic. Lilla P is my favorite line for making your basics not SO basic! You should definitely check them out if you have not already!
